January is traditionally the month we find ourselves vowing to finally make time for something we’ve been meaning to do for a while. So you might say, “This is the year I finally lose those extra 10 pounds” or “This is the year I clean out my garage.” At Carmichael Dental we hope you’ll make 2020 the year for smile improvements.

If you improve your smile’s appearance, you’ll feel happier and more confident. Improving your smile’s function will make you happier and healthier too.

Call 334-600-1423 to schedule a consultation with one of our dentists at Carmichael Dental Care. We’ll be happy to work with you on a plan to make your smile improvements happen in 2020. In the meantime, go ahead and read about some of the treatments you may want to consider.

Conceal Smile Flaws With Veneers or a Bonding Treatment

You may have flaws that have bothered you for years, like a gap between teeth or a crooked canine that mars the appearance of an otherwise straight smile. Or you may have only recently noticed that your teeth are looking dingy and/or worn. In either case, you can make smile improvements with dental veneers. Our veneers are made of beautiful porcelain, which resists staining and looks great for many years.

Getting veneers is a pretty simple process. We work with you to determine how you want your smile to look. Then we remove a small amount of enamel from your teeth to prepare them for the veneers and make a dental impression. The impression is sent to a lab that uses it to create your veneers. You return to our office so we can securely bond them to your teeth.

Bonding is a more affordable alternative to veneers that involves applying layers of tooth-colored resin (the same material used for dental fillings) to your teeth to hide your imperfections. We can usually complete the treatment in a single office visit. Bonding typically won’t last as long as veneers.

Brighten Your Smile With Teeth Whitening Treatment

Teeth whitening is one of our simplest and most affordable smile improvements. You can choose an in-office treatment, which will lighten your teeth several shades in about an hour, or home treatments that allow you to whiten whenever you want. For home treatments, we’ll provide you with professional-strength bleaching gel and custom-made whitening trays that make it easy to completely cover your teeth.

Let Our Dentists Reshape Your Gums

You may be unhappy with the appearance of your gums, especially if excess tissue overshadows your teeth. Some dental practices use a scalpel to remove bits of tissue. Our dentists use a laser instead. So both your actual gum reshaping treatment and your recovery are quick and painless

Replace Missing Teeth For Serious Smile Improvements

Nothing affects the appearance and function of your smile as much as missing teeth. Fortunately, you have several options for replacing them at Carmichael Dental. If you want to avoid the bone loss that occurs after losing teeth, you’ll need to get dental implants. They are actually implanted in your jaw and then restored with a crown, a bridge, or dentures. So they function much like natural tooth roots, stimulating your jaw to keep it strong.

We’ll refer you to a local oral surgeon for the implant placement, then you’ll return to our office to receive your replacement teeth.

If you’d prefer not to get implants, you still have options. You can get a dental bridge to replace a single tooth or several missing teeth in a row. To replace multiple teeth, you can choose partial dentures instead. We also offer full dentures to replace all of your teeth.

Complement Smile Improvements With Facial Rejuvenation

Once you’ve made smile improvements, you may want the rest of your face to look younger and more vibrant. Our dentists can administer Botox to relax the look of fine lines and wrinkles and/or Juvederm to create more volume in your cheeks, lips, or other areas. You can even schedule Botox appointments to coordinate with your regular dental exams!
