Dr. Shawn Keahey Provides Comfortable Dental Care For All Ages

Shawn Keahey, DDS was born and raised in Chicago, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology from Illinois Benedictine College. He was immediately invited to attend Northwestern Dental School, where he acquired his DDS in 1996. Dr. Keahey continued his education at Northwestern Dental School for two more years, being awarded Certificates of Achievement in Advanced General Dentistry and Geriatric Dentistry.

A significantly rewarding time in Dr. Keahey’s career was the opportunity to serve with Poor Handmaidens of Christ, volunteering his dental services to underprivileged villages throughout Central America.

Since his induction in 1992, Dr. Keahey has maintained his membership with the dental fraternity Delta Sigma Delta. He was a member of the Chicago Dental Society and the Fox River Dental Society through his years of practice in Chicago. He continues to be a longtime member of the American Dental Association and has been a member of the Alabama Dental Association since moving to Alabama in 2003.

Dr. Keahey met his wife, Kimeran, through mutual friends while they were living in Chicago. They relocated to Kimeran’s home state of Alabama in 2003 to be closer to family. Married in 2003, they live in a historic Victorian home in Tallassee with their four children: triplets Connor, Ava, and Ethan, and Claire.

Although there is never a dull moment, in his spare time Dr. Keahey enjoys woodworking, landscaping, gardening, and model building.
